Government of India targets 1 lakh broadband service centres by March 08

The government of India has very ambitious plans to setup one lakh broadband service centers across India by March 2008. The plan being chalked out will enable every six village in India to have one broadband enabled service centre. This unit will provide all e-governance related facilities to the the people of the villages. The total cost for the project is estimated at Rs 5400 crores.
